Young women who wear the crown gain practical, work-related skills that are vital in today's world. These skills and experiences lay a strong foundation for future plans and a successful life.
Since 1955, the Pageant Association has sent the reigning Miss Rodeo North Dakota to compete in the annual Miss Rodeo America pageant. The Miss Rodeo North Dakota contestants have been very successful at the national pageant and have produced several top-ten finalists, runners-up and two Miss Rodeo Americas.
In 1983, Brenda Lee Bonogofsky was the first Miss Rodeo North Dakota to win the national title of Miss Rodeo America.
