This year the Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant Association is celebrating its 54th successful year. The Pageant Association is supported in large part through the generous donations and sponsorship of many North Dakota individuals and businesses.
The young woman selected to be Miss Rodeo North Dakota is a role model who travels the state acting as an official spokesperson for rodeo and a public relations specialist. Young women who wear the crown gain practical, work-related skills that are vital in today's world. These skills and experiences lay a strong foundation for future plans and a successful life.
Since 1955, the Pageant Association has sent the reigning Miss Rodeo North Dakota to compete in the annual Miss Rodeo America pageant. The Miss Rodeo North Dakota contestants have been very successful at the national pageant and have produced several top-ten finalists, runners-up and two Miss Rodeo Americas.
In 1983, Brenda Lee Bonogofsky was the first Miss Rodeo North Dakota to win the national title of Miss Rodeo America. In 2007, Bowman native, Ashley Andrews, was the second Miss Rodeo North Dakota to be crowned Miss Rodeo America. These young women represent the adventurous spirit of the West and truly are the pride of North Dakota!
